ANZAC COOKIES

This week we learnt about why we commemorate ANZAC Day every year on 25 April. It is a day to remember our brave soldiers who fought in world wars and other wars for the freedom we enjoy in our country today.

During World War II the families of these soldiers sent them special parcels with letters and food to eat. Anzac biscuits were sent to the soldiers because they did not contain eggs and therefore could last the long journey to the soldiers overseas without going bad.

The biscuits we made made us think about those brave soldiers back then and of the brave soldiers who fight for our right to live freely today.

Our biscuits didn't last very long. They were delicious!
