Music to our ears
Today we learnt about the four music families in an orchestra. Yep even orchestras have families.
They are the string section (like violins and cellos), the brass section (like trumpets and horns), the woodwind section (like clarinets and flutes), and finally the percussion section (like drums and the xylophone).
Did you know that the piano can be either in the percussion section or the strings section because you strike or hit the keys but the noise is caused by strings inside the piano vibrating? Interesting isn't it?
Marie, Mrs Dobbie's daughter popped in after her exams to show us her flute and to play us some pieces. It sounded really nice!
