Discovering fractions
We made our own fraction walls. It was really fun and we discovered that by folding fractions in half we could get smaller fractions. Did you know that if you fold 1/2 into half you get 1/4 and if you half 1/4 you get 1/8?
What fraction do you think you would get if you folded 1/8 in half? Did you guess 1/16? Yes, you are right!
Maths is so always about patterns. Can you see one for what happens when you halve fractions? I wonder what would happen if you halved 1/16?
