Building huts

We are so lucky to have the lovely Mrs Ukutaula for our student teacher.

She wanted us to get to know each other better so she devised a cunning plan. We had to get together in our table groups and build a hut.

Simple huh? Well, not quite. We didn't have all the equipment. Some groups only had sheets, some only had pegs and some had all the chairs.

We had to trade to get all the equipment we needed. We learnt that when the first British settlers came here, they had to trade like this with the Maori people.

It took a little bit of co -  operation but eventually we all had our huts built!
