Introduction to Fractions

Today we learnt about halves and quarters.

We learnt that fractions are all about sharing equally. Every part must be the same - equal in size or number, to be a fraction.

If we half something we need to split or divide the shape or set into 2 equal pieces or groups and if we are looking at quarters, then we are splitting the shape or set into 4 equal pieces or groups.
