Learning from our Peers in Room 20

In Social Studies as part of our Farming Unit, Rooms 5, 20 and 25 have decided to grow our own food for our school rabbit, Rumble.

Today Mrs Rogers and 2 of her rabbit monitors came to our class to talk about what Rumble our school rabbit likes to eat. We learnt that he likes dark green leafy green vegetables like silverbeet, spinach leaves and puha. We took some notes about this and will need to decide which plant we will grow.

After Mrs Rogers left, we visited Room 20 to see what stage they are at with their "growing". Room 20 are a little ahead of us and have already designed and planted their rabbit food. It was great seeing what they have done because it gave us lots of ideas as to how we might go ahead and grow our rabbit food.

Mr. Bermingham even came up to help tie some of the plant holders to the window bar as Room 20 needed someone tall to do this!

Thank you Room 20 for sharing your learning with us. When we have designed and made our plant containers we will invite you to our class!

All we can say is that Rumble is going to have lots of yummy food to eat soon!

Look at Room 20's fantastic planters!

Adriana and Zoe found some puha growing in the school. The roots are still attached and they are going to see if they can grow more puha from these little plants!

"Sure I'll hang it up for you!"

"Careful Mr Bermingham!"
