Florence's Mum

Florence's Mum, Stephanie came today to talk to us. She is an illustrator of children's books. She told us how her pictures get from her sketch book into a picture book in the library. She says that with the book "Bye Bye Bye" she had to do a lot of research on the animal characters she had to draw. She then practiced sketching the animals over and over again until she was satisfied with how the animals looked. Finally when all her pictures were  done she coloured them in using water colour pencils and sent them to the publisher so they could incorporate them into the story.
