What are Primary and Secondary Colours?

Hmmm what are Primary and secondary colours? Did you know that fish could help us out?

First we had to draw 3 big fish and 3 small fish. Then we had to paint the big ones in primary colours which we learnt were red, yellow and blue. Then came the magic. Did you know that you can mix the primary colours and make 3 new secondary colours. Hey Mum and Dad no longer do you need to buy us heaps of colour pencils and felt pens.  The three primary colours will do.

We discovered that:
Red + yellow = orange
Blue + yellow = green and
Red + blue = purple
