Celebrating Diwali

On Thursday it was Diwali, the Indian New Year and the Festival of Lights. We learnt about how that the Indians celebrate Diwali by lighting lamps or "diyas" to welcome Rama and Sita back from their exile in the forest and to lead the Goddess of Wealth and Good Fortune, Lakshmi to their homes.

We are decorating our own diyas here. Aren't they beautiful?
