Visiting Room 3 to Work Collaboratively.

On  Monday we went to Mrs Goundar's class to learn some more about Cyclone Winston - the cyclone that hit Fiji a week ago. Mrs Goundar used to live in Fiji and she feels very sad about the devastation that was caused to her country.

The cyclone was the worst cyclone to hit the South Pacific ever. It has left many people homeless and without food.

We watched some videos of what it looks like over in Fiji at the moment and felt sad for the families there.  How could we help? We got into groups and came up with some ideas on how we can help. Lots of us suggested bringing in food and clothing we didn't need and guess what? That is exactly what our school is doing!

We are collecting food this week , school stationery the week after and bedding and towels in week 8! So come on Room 6 we can bring heaps more stuff to help out. We need to be GENEROUS!

Mrs  Goundar explained to us what a cyclone was and the different strengths a cyclone could be. A category 5 cyclone is the strongest and most devastating one you can get. Cyclone Winston was category 5 cyclone.

We looked at the photos of what Cyclone Winston has done to the buildings and homes in Fiji.

Here are some of our suggestions to help out.

Room 6 you are a caring class. So responsible for remembering to bring some non perishable food items for the victims of Cyclone Winston. Well done!
