Scooter Safety Day.

On Tuesday afternoon we had an afternoon where we talked about how to use our scooters safely. We talked about what we should wear -  helmets and closed in shoes.
We discussed how to safely scooter on the footpaths and in the park being respectful to pedestrians and not speeding.
We also talked about how to cross a road (at the pedestrian crossing if one was available) by getting off our scooters and walking across the road pushing our scooter before hopping back on on the other side of the road!
Another thing we must look out for are "sneaky driveways" you know where cars could back out of a property without looking out for us! When we approach driveways we must always be aware that  car could be backing out, so we slow down and check the driveway before we proceed!
So here's some pics of us having a fun lesson on scooter safety. I know there are some of us with the wrong gear i.e no helmet and shoes but it was a shame to waste  a fine afternoon on the sidelines. Mrs Dobbie made sure we were all being sensible and responsible! And we know that when we scooter at home, we must have this gear or we can't go out!

Can we have scooters at school every day?

Walk across pedestrian crossings and all roads!

"Watch out! It's a sneaky driveway!" Slow down  and look for reversing vehicles.

Miss Rout you need a helmet!

Someone needs a helmet and to slow down!  Draven showing us what NOT to do!
